Jérémie Lenoir
Plateforme, Le Havre, 2024
We first showed Jérémie Lenoir’s work in Vienna in 2017 — and it never really left us. His images stay with you, not because they demand attention, but because they ask you to pause. Plateforme, Le Havre (2024) captures more than a place; it captures a shift — between form and feeling, presence and absence. Shot from above, the landscape becomes a quiet composition, shaped by human rhythm, yet emptied of noise. It invites reflection, not reaction — and that’s why we return to it.

"I am convinced of the imperative need to make use of imagination to create intimacy with the world around us."
- Jérémie Lenoir
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Born in 1983, Jérémie Lenoir is graduated of the Polytechnique School of the University of Tours and of the Superior Art and Design School of Orléans. Without proper subject, without seeking an objective reproduction of a «true» landscape, Jérémie Lenoir’s photographs offer a sensitive travel through what Marc Augé called «non places». Deeply inspired by Dusseldorf Kunstakademie artists and expressionnist painters such as Rothko, Noland, Soulages or Malevitch, his work tries both a representation of reality and its transfiguration in paintings, attempting to give a new realism to our contemporary territories.
CURATOR´S NOTE
Jérémie Lenoir’s work from 2024 continues to walk the delicate line between distance and intimacy. Captured from above, his landscapes are stripped of noise, people, and context, yet never feel empty. In Plateforme, Le Havre, Lenoir gives us a space shaped by human logic but softened through composition. Geometry becomes gesture. Stillness becomes structure. This work doesn’t tell us what to feel, it gives us room to notice. A moment to look again. And to sit with what remains.
