Jérémie Lenoir
Chantier, Poissy, 2024
Some works don’t ask to be looked at. They ask you to slow down.
We first encountered Jérémie Lenoir’s photographs in Vienna, subtle, precise, and somehow full of feeling. Chantier, Poissy is part of that same quiet dialogue. Captured from above, a construction site becomes something altogether different, stripped of noise, suspended in stillness.
What’s left is not a document, but a meditation. Lines soften. Purpose fades. What remains is rhythm, shadow, shape, an image that holds both presence and absence in balance.
Lenoir’s work doesn’t tell you what to see. It opens a space to feel what’s already there.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Born in 1983, Jérémie Lenoir is graduated of the Polytechnique School of the University of Tours and of the Superior Art and Design School of Orléans. Without proper subject, without seeking an objective reproduction of a «true» landscape, Jérémie Lenoir’s photographs offer a sensitive travel through what Marc Augé called «non places». Deeply inspired by Dusseldorf Kunstakademie artists and expressionnist painters such as Rothko, Noland, Soulages or Malevitch, his work tries both a representation of reality and its transfiguration in paintings, attempting to give a new realism to our contemporary territories.
CURATOR´S NOTE
Jérémie Lenoir’s practice sits at the intersection of photography, architecture, and abstraction. Working from aerial perspectives, he captures transitional spaces—construction sites, industrial peripheries, liminal zones—yet what he reveals goes far beyond documentation. His images are studies in restraint. They strip away context to uncover a quiet geometry, a subtle rhythm, a moment of stillness within constant transformation. There’s a tension in his work—between function and form, between presence and emptiness—that invites a deeper kind of looking. To collect Lenoir is to collect a new way of seeing: where the everyday becomes extraordinary through distance, attention, and care. His work brings not only visual harmony, but a reflective stillness into any space.
