There’s a softness to Lunar Glow: a sense of light captured, held, and reimagined.
Created in collaboration between architect and designer Sophie Dries and Austrian lighting studio KAIA, this limited-edition piece was originally commissioned for the CTMP Design Auction at Milan Design Week. Known for its refined blown-glass chandeliers and its roots in Vienna’s Secessionist aesthetic, KAIA here steps into new terrain. Dries introduces an unexpected element, papier-mâché, into the familiar language of brass and glass, bringing texture and quiet imperfection into dialogue with classical precision.
Three hand-blown orbs in soft pink and champagne hues float within a raw, geometric frame. Sculptural yet ethereal, Lunar Glow feels both grounded and weightless, industrial and organic. Each piece is made to order, with compositions ranging from one to eight globes, fully customizable, entirely intentional.

Lunar Glow is a work born from contrast—weight and air, structure and softness, the old language of materials reimagined in quiet dialogue. Created by architect and designer Sophie Dries in collaboration with Austrian lighting studio KAIA, the piece brings together hand-blown glass, aged brass, and the tactile irregularity of papier-mâché. Each element speaks its own texture, but together they form a whole that feels tender, architectural, and gently unexpected. The orbs—softly tinted in pink and champagne—appear to hover, suspended in stillness. Brass holds them in place, while paper interrupts perfection with its quiet imperfections. This is lighting that doesn’t fill a space—it anchors it. It doesn’t perform—it listens.
