Untitled, 2023
In Untitled, Charlotte Herzig captures a quiet moment of tension, where oil on paper creates an intimate imprint of something fleeting and elusive.
The monotype evokes a sense of presence and absence, with soft, subtle marks that suggest form without fully revealing it. Herzig’s delicate balance between material and space invites the viewer to pause and linger, as if caught in a quiet moment just before transformation.

CURATOR´S NOTE
Untitled by Charlotte Herzig quietly commands attention through its subtlety and restraint. The monotype’s delicate layers of oil on paper evoke a sense of intimacy, as though the viewer is witnessing a moment suspended between states of being. There is a quiet tension here, an energy that feels poised, just out of reach. Herzig’s mastery lies in her ability to create a space where presence and absence coexist, inviting the viewer to pause and reflect. This piece lingers, its muted tones and textured surfaces unfolding slowly, allowing each viewer to find their own rhythm within the work.
